THE dog that mauled tragic baby Archie Lee Hirst to death was suffering from a lack of exercise and mental stimulation.
Archie Lee Andrew Hirst was snatched from the arms of a seven-year-old child and attacked by his grandparents' two-and-half-year-old rotweiller bitch an inquest was told.

The dog took the 13-month-old-babe into the back yard, where it was kept, at Chald Lane on December 28 2007.

A paramedic went into the yard and to get Archie Lee before a police marksman shot the bitch dead.

Archie Lee died later in Pinderfields Hospital.

The hearing was told that the dog, despite being fed and well kept, had not been exercised for five months.

Archie-lee died from multiple injuries consistent with a dog attack and a verdict of accidental death was recorded.
