Inquest into rugby leauge legend's death

Rugby league legend Don Fox suffered a fall in hospital the day before he died - an inquest was told.
Mr Fox , 72, is best remembered as a professional rugby league player for Wakefield Trinity, Featherstone Rovers and Great Britain.

Since his retirement he had worked as a joiner at Sharlston Colliery the hearing was told.

He was a resident at Walton Manor residential home and had suffered from depression for a number of years.

On Thursday, August 14 Mr Fox had been admitted to the Chantry unit at Fieldhead Hospital for monitoring of his blood pressure and his medication.

But on Wednesday, Augsut 20 he fell.

The fall was unwitnessed and he was taken by ambulance to Pinderfields Hospital.

He underwent a scan and had suffered head injuries.

Mr Fox's family stayed by his bedside until he died on Thursday , August 21.

The hearing was adjourned pending the outcome of further enquiries.
