Mark Barlow, general manager of UK Theatres at Showcase Cinemas said: “In advance of the release of Dad’s Army, we were delighted to invite the WR28 Home Guard unit to the Showcase Cinema de Lux in Birstall.
“Appearing in their full uniform, they put on a great display for guests by performing various drills both inside and outside the cinema. As they are extras in the film and local to the cinema, it was fantastic to have them here to bring Dad’s Army to life.”
The new film is based on the BBC Sitcom set during the Second World War.
