How to create your own good luck - by getting involved
I was asked by the Caravan and Motorhome Club to present a car to the lucky winner of a prize draw. I was delighted to be asked to do this, how amazing, handing over a set of keys, and what a car it was too, a whopping great big Ssangyong Korando, a great towing car (writes Karen Wright).
The competition had been open, so it was fabulous when we discovered the winner was a member of the club and regularly takes trips to club sites. His most recent visit was to Chatsworth House, just a short distance from where he lives in Rotherham.

A chat to Neville, the winner, got me thinking about luck. Are we born lucky or do we create our own good fortune?
When I was young, I used to watch Blue Peter. There were opportunities to win a Blue Peter badge, but I never got around to buying a stamp to send off my competition entry so I never got a badge. These days most forms can be completed online from your armchair, so no excuses, remember, in it to win it!
I believe we make our own luck. I got my place on The Great British Bake Off because I filled in the application form. I worked hard, baking every day, trying out new things I had never tasted let alone made before. I created a huge portfolio of photographs to send in. Most importantly though, I pressed the send button. Just like Neville who won the car, I made my own luck by having a go.

We are going to the Malvern Hills, the Isle of Wight and to Brighton. I am very excited. We don’t go yet so next week my article will be on my usual topic, lovely grub!
Have a great week everyone and be lucky! www.karenwrightbakes.co.uk
