A STANLEY film-maker is heading for the bright lights of Hullywood with his first short film.
Ben Thompson started work on Going Home with school-mate Stuart Ramsey just nine months ago, and on Sunday it will have its world premiere at Glimmer, the Hull Film Festival.
Mr Thompson, 28, of Lake Lock Road, said: "Stuart and I used to talk about making our own films when we were at school, so it feels great to have finally taken our first steps into this exciting world.
"When we first started working together we dreamed about one of our films being shown on the big screen but never imagined they would, especially with Going Home being our first. We were absolutely stunned when we found out."

Pete is played by Heartbeat star Pete Ivatts, and all the actors and crew worked for free, so they didn't burst the tight budget.
Mr Thompson, a freelance media consultant, said: "The film is very personal to us both. The story is based on real events and was inspired by some of the people and places in Yorkshire we love. Even the film's main character, Stanley, is named after the area of Wakefield where I live.
"We hope the screening helps raise awareness of Alzheimer's and other dementia issues."
The Glimmer festival, at the Reel Cinema in Hull, is in its sixth year and features the some of the best short films made in Yorkshire in the past year.
